ShoutLine! Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how the ShoutLine! mobile application (“ShoutLine!” or the “App”) handles information.
1. Data Controller and Contact
Data Controller: Ersin Akyüz
Location: Munich, Germany
Email: [email protected]
2. About ShoutLine!
ShoutLine! lets you create and display large banner messages on your device. No account or sign-in is required.
3. Information Stored Only on Your Device
- Banner content and settings: Messages, colors, fonts, effects, templates, favorites, and recent banners are stored locally.
- Selected photos and videos: When you choose media for a banner background, the selected file is copied to the App’s local storage. ShoutLine! does not upload the media or its contents.
- Local product events: Basic counters such as app opens, banner displays, and setting changes are stored locally for product diagnostics. They are not transmitted to us or to an analytics provider.
You can remove saved banners and media in the App. Removing the App deletes its local data, subject to your device backup settings.
4. Subscription and Purchase Information
ShoutLine! uses Apple App Store and Google Play for payments. We do not receive or store your payment card or bank account details.
We use RevenueCat to validate purchases and manage ShoutLine! Pro access. RevenueCat may process:
- a randomly generated anonymous App User ID;
- purchase history, store receipts or purchase tokens, product identifiers, subscription status, and entitlement status; and
- limited technical information needed to operate and secure the subscription service, such as device type, operating system, app version, and network information.
This information is used for App functionality, purchase validation, fraud prevention, customer support, and aggregate subscription analytics. It is not used for targeted advertising and is not linked by ShoutLine! to your name, email address, or other real-world identity.
5. What We Do Not Collect
ShoutLine! does not use advertising SDKs, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, IDFA, AAID, cross-app tracking, precise location, contacts, microphone data, or account profiles. Banner text and selected media are not sent to our servers.
6. Permissions
Photo and video access is requested only when you choose a media background. You can revoke this permission in your device settings. Core free features remain available without granting media access.
7. Purposes and Legal Bases
- Providing and validating subscriptions: performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)).
- Fraud prevention, security, and aggregate subscription analytics: legitimate interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
- Accessing selected photos or videos: your affirmative choice and device permission (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a), where consent is the applicable basis).
- Compliance with legal obligations: GDPR Art. 6(1)(c), where applicable.
8. Service Providers and International Transfers
Purchase and subscription information may be processed by Apple, Google, and RevenueCat. These providers act under their own privacy terms and applicable data protection safeguards. Where information is transferred outside the EU/EEA, appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses may be used. We require service providers acting for us to protect information consistently with this Policy and applicable law.
9. Retention and Deletion
Local App data remains on your device until you delete it or remove the App. RevenueCat, Apple, and Google retain purchase records as needed to provide subscriptions, prevent fraud, meet legal obligations, and maintain transaction records under their respective policies.
To request access to or deletion of information handled on our behalf, contact us at [email protected]. We may need limited purchase information to locate the relevant anonymous subscription record. Store transaction records may need to be managed directly through Apple or Google.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to processing, or receive a copy of your personal data, and to withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Children’s Privacy
ShoutLine! is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action.
12. Security
Subscription information is transmitted using encrypted connections. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no transmission or storage method is completely secure.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy when the App or our data practices change. The current version will remain available at this URL, and the “Last updated” date will be revised.
